The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Surveillance Detection Supervisor.

EDUCATION:  Completion of high school is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of one (1) year of military, police, or private experience in the field of security is required.  In addition to six (6) months of supervisory experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of surveillance techniques.  Familiarity with local pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns and habits, experience in the preparation of reports and schedules, awareness of cultural norms and customs is required. 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: English level II (Limited knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. Host country language level III (Good working knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. (This may be tested)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  (This may be tested.) 

Must possess a driver license.  Ability to manage the work of others in a team environment is required. Prepare oral and written reports, and operate communications SD equipment and cameras.  Basic computer skills are required, to include keyboarding with accuracy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Word and Excel.

Summary: The U.S. Mission in Uganda is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Surveillance Detection Supervisor.

The work schedule for this position is:    

•          Full Time, 40 hours per week

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: Yes

Duties: The job holder is responsible for the administrative management of the SD Monitors, which may include performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, approval of leave requests, and management of issued equipment. The position may drive a vehicle, may have routine contact with local police regarding incidents that happen around the mission and related residences, and has supervisory responsibilities for up to ten (10) SD Monitors.  This position requires the completion of high school, a minimum of one (1) year of military, police, or private experience in the field of security, in addition to six (6) months of supervisory experience.  The position is located in the Regional Security Office (RSO) within the Mission.
